FRED JUETT - Ottawa Royals Technical Director and Men's Premier coach|
The Ottawa Royals Soccer Club coaching staff
is headed by our Technical Director, Fred Juett, former Ottawa Intrepid
professional player. Fred is an OSA 'C' license coach, and is coach of
the Carleton University Women's team and long time coach of the Royals
Premier team, one of the most successful club teams in Ontario. The Men's
Premier team won the Ontario Cup last year and took home the silver medal
in the National Club Championship.
ANDY NERA - Men's Premier|
When Andy Nera was asked to list his coaching and
playing highlights, the list was too long to include in this section.
Some of the highlights of his coaching career with Nepean United Spirit
include Ontario Cup Champions from 1997-1999 and Canadian Champions 1997
& 1998. He is currently the head coach of Carleton's Women's Varsity
Soccer team. Last year the rookie coach of the Royals Men's Premier team
helped guide the squad to an Ontario Cup gold medal and a silver medal at
the National Championships.
AYDIN OYALI - U10 Boys Premier|
The U10 Boys Premier team welcomes Aydin Oyali, another member
of the Ontario Cup Championship squad, as this year's head coach. Aydin who is
originally from Bulgaria is currently coaching in the Royals Winter Development
program. The players are sure to pick up some valuable pointers from Aydin whose
pinpoint passes and excellent ball skills made him a valuable member of the Royals
KWESI LONEY - U11 Boys Premier|
Coaching the U11 Boys Premier team this year is Kwesi Loney.
Kwesi was a member of the Ontario Youth Provincial Program in the early 1990's.
He is another Royals Men's Premier player with connections to Carleton
University, having served as their captain for 3 years. In 2002 he made the First
Team All Canadian and was selected to the CIS Tournament All-Star Team. In 2003
Kwesi played for the Ottawa Wizards in the CPSL and represented Canada at the
University Olympics in South Korea.
DREW DAILEY - U13 Boys Division 1|
Drew Dailey is entering his third season as head coach
of the U13 Boys Division 1 team. Drew's 18 year competitive soccer career
includes 5 years with Carleton University's Men's Varsity Soccer team, the
last 2 years as captain. In 2004, he was selected to the OUA East/West
All-Star team and has been a member of the Royals Premier team since 2002.
ROLAND TIAMUH - U14 Boys Premier|
Roland Tiamuh joined the Royals Premier team in 2004 and
was an integral part of team's success. His highlight goal of the year was scored
against St. Anthony's with the Royals clinging to a slim 1-0 lead while down 2 men.
The U14 Boys Premier team will no doubt learn a lot from Roland. Roland also played
for the Ottawa Wizards as well as Kanata Soccer Post having won the Ontario Cup in
both 2003 with Kanata and 2004 with the Royals. He was a member of Algonquin
College's Varsity Soccer team who were Ontario Champions in 1999. That year he was
selected to the Provincial and National All-Star teams.
DOUG CATHCART - U15 Boys Regional|
Doug is an Ottawa native who has been a member of the Royals
for over 25 years. Doug has played for several club teams including Men's Premier
and our Old-Timers Div 1 for the last 10 years. He has coached youth soccer for
over 8 years at the House League, Premier and Regional levels. Doug coaches our
Boys U15 team who have enjoyed considerable league and tournament success over the
last several seasons. Doug holds his Senior Community (Level 3) certification.
NINA BIGRAS - U13 Girls Division 1|
This year the U13 Girls are fortunate to have 2 members
of Carleton University's Women's Varsity team as coaches. Nina's first
major soccer experience was being chosen by the Brazilian soccer schools to
represent South Buckinghamshire County in the BAA Heathrow Thames Valley Youth
Games in England, 2000. In 2003-4 she played for the Ottawa Fury which made a
showing at the North American Championships in Chicago.
TARA CURRIE - U13 Girls Division 1|
Tara Currie is entering her fifth and final year with
Carleton's Varsity team. This left footed winger has been playing competitive
soccer since she was 10 years old, winning an Ontario Cup as a U19 player.
Tara has coached at a number of soccer camps including the Royals and Carleton
University. Last year, Tara was a member of the Royals Women's Premier team
that finished first in the Premier Division of the OCSL.
